Beginning my career in still photography, I soon made the switch to the motion picture field as a director and cameraman. Through my production company in Seattle I made regional and national television commercials, as well as documentary and corporate films.

Having never lost my interest in still photography I gradually returned to those roots since moving to the north Oregon coast several years ago. Recently I became intrigued with a simple, almost laughable, Chinese-made camera called a Holga. Inherently flawed, this camera is quite a departure from the hheavy and expensive 35mm motion picture cameras I used for so many years. But a camera is a camera and can do nothing of itslef, though each has its unique characeristics waiting to be discovered.

To me light and form ar the important ingredients in photography and black and white the most primeval point of origin. Couple that with a primitive camera and let the hourney backwards begin.
