Bass Guitar in Black and White

This is a black and white photo taken with my Holga 120 medium format film camera.

This was taken at night in a dark club while the band was playing. I used a remote shutter release in order to let the shutter stay open longer than usual without hand shake. That gave the film enough light to make the image. It also blurred the hand of the bass guitar player.

Of course it helped that the bass player knew what I was doing and stayed fairly stationary for this shot. If he’d been jumping all around the stage, I’d have gotten just a blur.

I took this with Kodak TMY-120 TMAX-400 ISO 400 Professional Black & White Print Film.
